St Ali Coffee Coming to Beechworth

Matt and I have a food store in Beechworth called Larder Fromagerie. We have great cheese, chocolate & provisions but now also have coffee as of Tuesday 10th April. Our coffee machine is arriving along with St Ali coffee, a great specialty coffee roaster from Melbourne. At St. Ali, every coffee tells a different story. That may sound deep, but it’s not. This is how it works:


Wherever possible, we develop direct trade alliances with the world’s best coffee growers. We visit their farms, talk to the harvesters and show them the quality of bean we’re after. They send us the very best they find and in exchange we pay super premiums to ensure perfection. This way we both win, because they can improve their equipment and quality, and we get the very best beans. It’s a pretty sweet deal.
Once delivered, we lightly roast the beans in small batches to make sure they keep their distinct flavour. You see, coffee is a fruit, and they all taste different depending on where they’re grown, in what climate and what varietal they are.
